One afternoon, you'll hear tiny paws following you through the house. You'll glance down, and there I'll be, looking up as if to say, "Well? The sunshine won't wait forever."

I'll become your favorite little excuse.

An extra walk around the neighborhood.
A quiet cup of coffee on the back porch.
One more trip to the garden.

You'll tell everyone you're taking me out for exercise...

But between you and me?

I know I'm really taking you.

The neighbors will know my name. The grandkids will suddenly have an even better reason to visit. I'll make ordinary days feel just a little brighter.

You've spent a lifetime believing the little things matter, fresh air, good food, slowing down, and caring well for what you love. I was given that same thoughtful beginning, so I could become the kind of companion who fits right into the life you've built.

People say retirement is about slowing down.

I have a different plan.
