Doodles are popular not just for their adorable looks, but also for their generally healthy genetics and low-shedding to no-shedding coats. Because they come from two different breeds, they benefit from what’s often called “hybrid vigor,” meaning a wider gene pool and, when responsibly bred, strong overall health. 

Their grooming needs depend on coat type: curlier, more poodle-like coats rarely shed but require frequent brushing and regular trims, while more open, hair-type coats shed a bit more and need less professional grooming. Doodles are often easier for allergy-sensitive families since their low-shedding coats help keep dander closer to the skin, though no dog is truly hypoallergenic and reactions vary by individual dog.

Some dog breeds, like the Doodle, are considered more suitable for people with allergies due to their low-shedding or non-shedding coats. These coats trap loose skin dander, reducing the amount of allergens released into the environment.
